BECOME A WILDFIRE POWER SAW OPERATOR

Every Wildfire Crew needs at least one Power Saw Operator (PSO). Becoming the designated Power Saw Operator increases your likelihood of deployment and increases your daily pay rate.

Nakimu Ventures offers in-house training for employees interested in becoming Wildfire Power Saw Operators.

NAKIMU’S POWER SAW OPERATORS TRAINING

Nakimu Ventures offers in-house Power Saw Operator training for both experienced and inexperienced chainsaw operators.

Our instructors are all highly skilled Chainsaw Operators with diverse backgrounds in forestry and Wildland Firefighting. All courses are run by certified Fallers and competent Faller Assistants, each with a minimum of 10+ years experience operating a chainsaw in a professional setting.

Upon successful completion of Nakimu’s Power Saw Operator course, each student will receive a certification that illustrates their chainsaw competency. This certification allows workers to operate a chainsaw for Nakimu Ventures on a Type 3 Fire Crew, or on any of Nakimu’s Fuel Management or Forestry projects. This certification is not an externally validated accreditation, and is non-transferable to other companies.

TRAINING FOR EXPERIENCED OPERATORS

This is a one day course which consists of 25% practical (in-class) theory, and 75% hands-on training and evaluation.
