OCCUPATIONAL FIRST AID (OFA)

All crews need 1-2 designed first aid attendants. In order to fill the role of the designated first aid attendant, an individual must possess either an OFA3 certification or an OFA1 and a Transportation Endorsement certification.

OFA courses are offered at many colleges throughout BC, and other accredited training organizations

OFA level 1 and Transportation Endorsement
OFA1 is a 1-day course that teaches the basics of first aid in the workplace. It’s main focus is on initial patient assessment, and maintaining patient stabilization until they are in proper medical care.
Transportation Endorsement is also a 1-day course, which focuses on how to package an injured patient for transport

OFA level 3
OFA3 is a 70-hour program
